Kemer

Kemer is a resort city and port located on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, in the province of Antalya.

It is a popular destination for beach and sightseeing tourism with a developed infrastructure, a wide range of hotels, beaches, attractions, restaurants. The natural landscape of the city is unique – Kemer has been erected in the foothills of the Taurus Mountains, amongst lush, blooming vegetation. The nearest major city, Antalya, is 42 km away.

Kemer is located in ancient Lycia and was called Idiros in ancient times. It keeps traces of Alexander the Great and many other invaders of antiquity.

Several unique archaeological sites are located in Kemer. First of all it is Phaselis – the ruins of an ancient city. In the area of Olympos tourists will see the gates of Hadrian – or rather the ruins that hold the mysteries of the ages, the remains of stone tombs, and an ancient dam.
Kemer began to actively develop as a tourist center in the 1990s. The plethora of “all inclusive” hotels have made it popular among tourists.
