Bodrum is a famous Turkish resort on the Aegean Sea, and it is rightfully considered the Turkish Riviera.
The history of Bodrum, like the history of many other coastal cities in Turkey, is highly storied. In ancient times, Bodrum was called Halicarnassus.

The secret of the origin of the modern name, as well as the history of the peninsula itself, is not fully known. To this day, Turkish historians can not come to a consensus, as there are no specific historical facts, citing which we can claim, how Halicarnass was renamed to Bodrum.
It is known that the city was conquered by Alexander the Great, later it belonged to the Roman Empire, then the Byzantine Empire, after that it was conquered by the Turks, or rather the Seljuks.

Bodrum is perhaps one of the most cosmopolitan cities in Turkey. It is known for its restaurants, nightclubs, the atmosphere of the eternal feast and bohemian lifestyle.

This combination especially attracts young people who come here in the summer to swim, bask in the sun, “hang out” in pubs under the open sky, discos and bars. Inquisitive tourists are drawn to this region by the desire to learn about the thousands of years of history of the region, to see the ancient and medieval monuments located here.
